What We Do

Sound Economy, Healthy Environment

CCEEB’s mission is to create a California where balancing economic growth and environmental protection is not only a vision, but also a reality.  CCEEB members believe it takes a strong, healthy economy to support and attain environmental goals, and that environmental quality and a high standard of living help California attract and retain the best and the brightest industries and workers in the world.

CCEEB relies on the practice of dialogue and consensus building among its members and other stakeholders to formulate sound and well-reasoned principles and policy positions.

Having the flexibility to tackle member priorities as they emerge is the key to our success.  CCEEB closely tracks hundreds of legislative bills each year and dozens of regulatory proceedings at state and regional agencies.  Members receive timely news and analysis, and hear from a broad range of industry and labor perspectives at regular monthly meetings.

CCEEB is organized around issue-specific working projects for its members, each with its own project management team.  Currently, CCEEB manages four statewide projects, two regional air quality projects, and a special joint project in partnership with major environmental groups called the California Environmental Dialogue.

When its time to act, our team of policy experts takes the council’s message to state lawmakers, decision makers and other stakeholders.  Through our work and reputation, CCEEB has built a wide network of contacts among California’s opinion makers.  Having sound ideas is good, having the access and credibility to make things happen is even better.
