Waste Management

CCEEB members operate across most points in a product’s lifecycle:

The safe reduction, management and disposal of waste, particularly hazardous materials, are of utmost importance to our members’ daily operations. Increasingly, businesses and regulators are looking at upstream ways to reduce waste and hazardous materials by not creating them in the first place.  California and its cities and counties are fast becoming national leaders in waste reduction and green chemistry, and help support industry efforts to fundamentally change the way we manufacture, package, transport, use and dispose of materials and products.

For materials that fall outside of the cradle-to-cradle system, CCEEB and its members support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible disposal.  For example, CCEEB supports waste-to-energy technologies and the capture of biogenic emissions like methane.
