Bay Area Partnership
Geographic focus: San Francisco Bay Area
Main activity: Bay Area Air Quality Management District policies and programs
The Bay Area Partnership (BAP) applies CCEEB's air quality principles at the regional air basin level. Our goal is to protect and improve the air quality in the Bay Area in an equitable and cost-effective manner. CCEEB encourages the application of sound science in policymaking and the deployment of proven, commercially available technologies. CCEEB also monitors on-the-ground implementation of regulations and programs, and regularly makes recommendations to improve processes, especially in terms of permit streamlining (with no environmental “backsliding”). This works helps reduce costs to businesses and the air district, while increasing environmental outcomes.
Because the harmful effects of pollution occur at the local level, CCEEB uses its regional projects to better understand and respond to the concerns of local communities.
