Public Policy Project
Geographic focus: statewide
Activity level: legislative and administrative efforts, state regulatory agencies
Just as environmental policies should be evaluated for cost-effectiveness, so too should economic policies be tested to ensure that they are environmentally responsible. Growth and development must go hand-in-hand with a healthy environment.
The CCEEB Public Policy Project (PPP) works on a range of issues, but all seek to improve the fundamental systems that support both California’s economy and its environment, such as career technical education, universal health care, land use, the California Environmental Quality and Endangered Species Acts, and much needed infrastructure investment.
Throughout its history, the PPP has taken an active leadership role on critical issues, such as resource management, K-12 education, budget and fiscal reform and governance. When appropriate, PPP works to initiate and/or respond to legislative, ballot, and other proposals. PPP advises the CCEEB Board of Directors on major political and policy concerns that demand attention, and counsels the board on any general or special election ballot measures and other matters that affect CCEEB’s overall priorities.
